Meezan Bank and Sukkur IBA Sign MoU for Collaborative Research and Training on Islamic Banking and Finance

Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank and Sukkur Institute of Business Administration have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaborative research and training on Islamic banking and finance. The MOU was signed by Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, President & CEO – Meezan Bank and Dr. Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, Dean and Director – Sukkur IBA.

The MoU highlights a collaborative framework for promoting Islamic finance in the region by committing to share respective resources and collaborating on various joint activities including research and publication and development of specialized training programs.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, President & CEO – Meezan Bank said, “Meezan Bank and IBA’s research partnership has played a prominent role in the development of Islamic banking literature over the years. Our recent collaboration with Sukkur IBA shall further provide a qualitative contribution to the practical as well as theoretical elements of Islamic banking and finance. We are hopeful that that this agreement will not only benefit students but provide mid to advance-level professionals with a greater understanding of Riba-free banking operations and mechanism.”
