Meezan Bank awarded ‘Islamic Bank of the Year’ by CFA Association of Pakistan

Meezan Bank has been awarded ‘Islamic Bank of the Year’ for 2009 by CFA Association of Pakistan (CFAAP) at its 7th annual Excellence Awards held recently.

This was the first award presented by CFAAP in the new category of awards that were introduced to recognize excellence in the commercial banking industry. The CFA Association of Pakistan (CFAAP) is a non-profit professional organization of local investment professionals, and a member society of CFA Institute, USA. CFA Institute is a global organization of analysts, portfolio managers, and financial professionals, and administers the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program worldwide.

2009 was a highly successful and record-breaking year for Meezan Bank, crossing Rs. 100 billion in deposits, Rs. 100 billion in trade finance (import & export) business, expanding its network to a total of 201 online branches in 54 cities across Pakistan and record profit-after-tax of over Rs. 1 billion.
