Meezan Bank holds seminar for businessmen in Islamabad

A seminar on Islamic Banking was organized by Meezan Bank at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce to create awareness of Islamic Banking and the business-friendly products offered. The event was attended by a large number of people from the business community and other stakeholders.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Saleem Khan, Regional Manager North and Mr. Sohail Khan, Head of Marketing and Training, Meezan Bank Limited said that Islamic Banking has a bright future in Pakistan as it has shown impressive growth as compared to conventional banking. They said Government has provided a supportive policy and regulatory framework for Islamic banking due to which this mode of banking is enjoying rapid growth.

They further added that Meezan Bank is providing many Islamic banking products and businessmen can utilize these products for expanding their business ventures. They said that Meezan bank is pioneer in launching the Islamic financing in Pakistan and would continue to spread the Islamic mode of banking for industrial and individual’s needs.

Mr. Zahid Maqbool, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) thanked Meezan Bank for holding this seminar for business community at ICCI and said that more such seminars should be held in other chambers of the country so that businessmen could use Islamic banking products to expand business activities.

Meezan Bank will have over 200 branches in Pakistan by year-end 2009 covering remote areas of NWFP, Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab as well. Holding of this seminar is in line with Meezan Bank’s vision of making Islamic Banking as Banking of First Choice and educating all levels of society about the benefits of Islamic Banking.
