Clarification by Meezan Bank on news item appearing on 2nd November, 2021

November 3rd, 2021

This is with reference to the news article printed in several newspapers on 2nd November, 2021, titled ‘Minister warns of cyber security challenges ‘, wherein it is quoted that: “the data of Meezan Bank and (another bank) was hacked but the bank asked the customers to change their PIN codes immediately which minimized the loss”

We would like to inform our customers and the public that Meezan Bank’s data was never hacked or compromised in any way. In October 2018 when there was news of cyber-attack on a few Pakistani banks, Meezan Bank had asked its customers, only as a pre-emptive precautionary measure, to change their PIN codes.

Meezan Bank has all the requisite security measures as well as 24/7 surveillance in place to ensure that customers’ data is not compromised and is safe at all times.

We are thankful to our customers for their support and continued patronage.
